Flood Watch issued June 4 at 3:36AM CDT until June 5 at 7:00PM CDT by NWS Shreveport LA * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible. * WHERE...Portions of Arkansas, including the following counties, Columbia, Hempstead, Howard, Lafayette, Little River, Miller, Nevada, Sevier and Union, Louisiana, including the following parishes, Bienville, Bossier, Caddo, Caldwell, Claiborne, De Soto, Grant, Jackson, La Salle, Lincoln, Natchitoches, Ouachita, Red River, Sabine, Union, Webster and Winn, southeast Oklahoma, including the following county, McCurtain, and Texas, including the following counties, Angelina, Bowie, Camp, Cass, Cherokee, Franklin, Gregg, Harrison, Marion, Morris, Nacogdoches, Panola, Red River, Rusk, Sabine, San Augustine, Shelby, Smith, Titus, Upshur and Wood. * WHEN...From 7 AM CDT this morning through Wednesday evening. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, bayous, creeks, streams and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Extensive street flooding and flooding of creeks and rivers are possible. Area creeks and streams are running high and could flood with more heavy rain. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - The Northwest Flow pattern of late has saturated soils across most if not all of the Four-State area in recent days. Special Weather Statement issued June 4 at 4:45AM CDT by NWS Shreveport LA At 445 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from Kiamichi to near Nashoba to near Cloudy to near Hugo Lake State Park to Hugo to 7 miles south of Soper. Movement was southeast at 40 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and pea size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... Idabel, Broken Bow, Wright City, Valliant, Millerton, Garvin, Farmers Hill, Rufe, Smithville, Hochatown, Battiest, Pickens, Mount Herman, Sherwood, Holly Creek, Glover, Slim, Bethel, Oak Hill, and Ringold. If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle. These storms may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio stations and available television stations for additional information and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
