Heat Advisory issued June 17 at 10:16AM EDT until June 21 at 8:00PM EDT by NWS Wilmington OH * WHAT...Heat index values up to 101 are expected. * WHERE...Portions of east central and southeast Indiana, northeast and northern Kentucky, and central, south central, southwest, and west central Ohio. * WHEN...Until 8 PM Friday. * IMPACTS...The combination of excessive heat due to temperatures in the 90s and high humidity will increase the threat of heat illnesses. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned rooms, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors, especially those that may have underlying health conditions. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.

Special Weather Statement issued June 17 at 1:45PM EDT by NWS Wilmington OH At 145 PM EDT, a rapidly developing thunderstorm was located near Morrow, moving east at 25 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 45 mph and very heavy rain. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Visibility will be poor and hydroplaning is possible. Locations impacted include... Lebanon, Wilmington, Morrow, Clarksville, Harveysburg, Corwin, Bowersville, Port William, Melvin, Fort Ancient, Lumberton, Oakland, Genntown, Caesar Creek State Park, Morrisville, Ogden, Kingman, Interstate 71 at US Route 68, Cowan Lake State Park, and Oregonia. This includes I-71 in Ohio between mile markers 30 and 58. If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a sturdy building. Motorists should slow down and use extra caution.
