Flood Watch issued July 17 at 12:08PM MDT until July 18 at 6:00PM MDT by NWS Albuquerque NM * WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible. * WHERE...A portion of central New Mexico, including the following area, South Central Mountains. * WHEN...Saturday afternoon. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Low-water crossings may be flooded. Storm drains and ditches may become clogged with debris. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Storms are expected to develop Saturday afternoon across the Sacramento Mountains, moving slowly to the southwest. Rainfall rates may exceed 1 inch per hour in the strongest storms, and rainfall amounts up to 1.5 inches are possible. Storms from Friday may make soils more susceptible to flooding.
