Heat Advisory issued July 19 at 11:47AM CDT until July 21 at 9:00PM CDT by NWS Memphis TN * WHAT...Heat index values up to 108 expected. * WHERE...Portions of North Mississippi and West Tennessee. * WHEN...From 10 AM Monday to 9 PM CDT Tuesday. * IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an emergency! Call 9 1 1.

Flood Advisory issued July 19 at 6:40PM CDT until July 19 at 9:45PM CDT by NWS Memphis TN * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of North Mississippi, including the following counties, Itawamba, Lee and Prentiss. * WHEN...Until 945 PM CDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 640 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1.5 and 2.5 inches of rain have fallen. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Baldwyn, Sandy Springs, Fairview, Wheeler, Marietta, Kirkville, Thrasher and Hobo Station. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads.
