Flood Warning issued June 27 at 3:11PM CDT until June 29 at 7:45AM CDT by NWS Wichita KS ...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Kansas... Walnut River at Arkansas City affecting Cowley County. Walnut River at Winfield affecting Cowley and Butler Counties. * WHAT...Moderate flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Walnut River at Winfield. * WHEN...Until Monday morning. * IMPACTS...At 20.0 feet, Flood waters flow over County Road Cowley 2 west of the city of Rock. Then 4 miles northwest of Winfield, Cowley County Road 18 floods over a section just west of 71st Road. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 2:00 PM CDT Saturday the stage was 24.3 feet and rising. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 25.2 feet just after midnight tonight. It will then fall below flood stage tomorrow evening. - Flood stage is 18.0 feet. Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly two feet of water will carry most vehicles away. Turn around, don't drown. Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas. Additional information is available at www.weather.gov.
