In north central Iowa, Butler, Franklin, Humboldt and Wright. In northeast Iowa, Black Hawk and Bremer. In northwest Iowa, Pocahontas. In west central Iowa, Audubon, Calhoun, Carroll, Crawford, Greene, Guthrie and Sac. * WHEN...Through Saturday morning. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Heavy rain last night and this morning have led to saturated soils, with ongoing flooding in some areas. With scattered rain/storms expected today and additional heavy rain tonight, new areas may begin to flood and ongoing flooding may be exacerbated. Flood Warning issued July 3 at 2:50PM CDT until July 3 at 5:15PM CDT by NWS Des Moines IA * WHAT...Urban area and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...A portion of central Iowa, including the following county, Polk. * WHEN...Until 515 PM CDT. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Expect many areas of slow moving or standing water. Areas along Fourmile Creek are of most concern. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 248 PM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated slow moving thunderstorms with very heavy rainfall across the warned area. As much as 8 to 12 inches of rain has fallen since Thursday afternoon. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Des Moines, Ankeny, Altoona, Pleasant Hill, Bondurant, Saylorville, Adventureland Amusement Park, Prairie Meadows, Iowa State Fairgrounds, Elkhart, Alleman, Ankeny Regional Airport, Weh-Weh-Neh-Kee State Park and Margo Frankel Woods State Park.
