Flood Watch issued June 27 at 10:44AM CDT until June 28 at 7:00AM CDT by NWS Paducah KY * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of southern Illinois, including the following areas, Alexander, Edwards, Franklin, Gallatin, Hamilton, Hardin, Jackson, Jefferson, Johnson, Massac, Perry IL, Pope, Pulaski, Saline, Union, Wabash, Wayne IL, White and Williamson, southwest Indiana, including the following areas, Gibson, Pike, Posey, Spencer, Vanderburgh and Warrick, western Kentucky, including the following areas, Ballard, Caldwell, Calloway, Carlisle, Christian, Crittenden, Daviess, Fulton, Graves, Henderson, Hickman, Hopkins, Livingston, Lyon, Marshall, McCracken, McLean, Muhlenberg, Todd, Trigg, Union KY and Webster, and southeast Missouri, including the following areas, Bollinger, Butler, Cape Girardeau, Carter, Mississippi, New Madrid, Perry MO, Ripley, Scott, Stoddard and Wayne MO. * WHEN...Through Sunday morning. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Low-water crossings may be flooded. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Additional rounds of very heavy rainfall may produce flash flooding through tonight. Many areas have already received amounts of 2-5", with localized swaths in excess of 6". For the Extreme Heat Watch, dangerously hot conditions with heat index values of 105 to 110 possible. * WHERE...Portions of southern Illinois, southwest Indiana, western Kentucky, and southeast Missouri. * WHEN...For the Heat Advisory, from noon CDT /1 PM EDT/ to 8 PM CDT /9 PM EDT/ Sunday. For the Extreme Heat Watch, from Monday morning through Thursday evening. * IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat and high humidity events. Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...A prolonged period of dangerous heat and humidity is expected this coming week. This heatwave may linger into the 4th of July weekend. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Flood Warning issued June 27 at 1:34PM CDT until June 27 at 7:30PM CDT by NWS Paducah KY * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of southwest Indiana, including the following counties, Gibson and Pike. * WHEN...Until 730 PM CDT /830 PM EDT/. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 133 PM CDT /233 PM EDT/, emergency management reported numerous roads flooded or washed out by earlier heavy rain and flash flooding. Between 5 and 10 inches of rain have fallen over the last 24 hours. - It will take a few more hours for any lingering flooding issued to clear up. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Princeton, Oakland City, Petersburg, Winslow, Patoka, Francisco, Somerville, Hazleton, Spurgeon and Mackey. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Stay away or be swept away. River banks and culverts can become unstable and unsafe.

White River at Petersburg. .Minor river flooding continues on the White River near Petersburg and Hazleton. Heavy rainfall from Friday night has prolonged the flooding, with minor flood stage now expected through midweek. * WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...White River at Hazleton. * WHEN...Until Tuesday afternoon. * IMPACTS...At 20.0 feet, Most of the low bottomlands flood. Flooding begins in higher bottomlands. High water affects any residents in Pottsville river cabins. Pottsville Road...North C Street on river side of railroad tracks and Catt Street near U.S. Highway 41 are flooded. Water is near or starting on Giro Road in the vicinity of submerged Pottsville Road. Oil stripped fields flood. Flood gates must be installed at Hazleton. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - There is no current observed data. - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage early Tuesday morning and continue falling and remain below flood stage. - Flood stage is 16.0 feet. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads.
