Flood Watch issued June 27 at 10:44AM CDT until June 28 at 7:00AM CDT by NWS Paducah KY * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of southern Illinois, including the following areas, Alexander, Edwards, Franklin, Gallatin, Hamilton, Hardin, Jackson, Jefferson, Johnson, Massac, Perry IL, Pope, Pulaski, Saline, Union, Wabash, Wayne IL, White and Williamson, southwest Indiana, including the following areas, Gibson, Pike, Posey, Spencer, Vanderburgh and Warrick, western Kentucky, including the following areas, Ballard, Caldwell, Calloway, Carlisle, Christian, Crittenden, Daviess, Fulton, Graves, Henderson, Hickman, Hopkins, Livingston, Lyon, Marshall, McCracken, McLean, Muhlenberg, Todd, Trigg, Union KY and Webster, and southeast Missouri, including the following areas, Bollinger, Butler, Cape Girardeau, Carter, Mississippi, New Madrid, Perry MO, Ripley, Scott, Stoddard and Wayne MO. * WHEN...Through Sunday morning. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Low-water crossings may be flooded. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Additional rounds of very heavy rainfall may produce flash flooding through tonight. Many areas have already received amounts of 2-5", with localized swaths in excess of 6". For the Extreme Heat Watch, dangerously hot conditions with heat index values of 105 to 110 possible. * WHERE...Portions of southern Illinois, southwest Indiana, western Kentucky, and southeast Missouri. * WHEN...For the Heat Advisory, from noon CDT /1 PM EDT/ to 8 PM CDT /9 PM EDT/ Sunday. For the Extreme Heat Watch, from Monday morning through Thursday evening. * IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat and high humidity events. Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...A prolonged period of dangerous heat and humidity is expected this coming week. This heatwave may linger into the 4th of July weekend. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Wabash River at New Harmony affecting Posey, White, Wabash, Gibson and Gallatin Counties. .Recent heavy rainfall has lead to rising levels along the Wabash River. Minor flooding continues at New Harmony, with a projected crest of 16.6 feet forecast Sunday night. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Wabash River at New Harmony. * WHEN...Until early Thursday morning. * IMPACTS...At 15.0 feet, The river overflows low ground on the Illinois side. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 10:30 AM CDT Saturday the stage was 15.7 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 10:30 AM CDT Saturday was 15.8 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 16.6 feet early Monday morning.
