Flood Watch issued June 27 at 10:44AM CDT until June 28 at 7:00AM CDT by NWS Paducah KY * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of southern Illinois, including the following areas, Alexander, Edwards, Franklin, Gallatin, Hamilton, Hardin, Jackson, Jefferson, Johnson, Massac, Perry IL, Pope, Pulaski, Saline, Union, Wabash, Wayne IL, White and Williamson, southwest Indiana, including the following areas, Gibson, Pike, Posey, Spencer, Vanderburgh and Warrick, western Kentucky, including the following areas, Ballard, Caldwell, Calloway, Carlisle, Christian, Crittenden, Daviess, Fulton, Graves, Henderson, Hickman, Hopkins, Livingston, Lyon, Marshall, McCracken, McLean, Muhlenberg, Todd, Trigg, Union KY and Webster, and southeast Missouri, including the following areas, Bollinger, Butler, Cape Girardeau, Carter, Mississippi, New Madrid, Perry MO, Ripley, Scott, Stoddard and Wayne MO. * WHEN...Through Sunday morning. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Low-water crossings may be flooded. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Additional rounds of very heavy rainfall may produce flash flooding through tonight. Many areas have already received amounts of 2-5", with localized swaths in excess of 6". For the Extreme Heat Watch, dangerously hot conditions with heat index values of 105 to 110 possible. * WHERE...Portions of southern Illinois, southwest Indiana, western Kentucky, and southeast Missouri. * WHEN...For the Heat Advisory, from noon CDT /1 PM EDT/ to 8 PM CDT /9 PM EDT/ Sunday. For the Extreme Heat Watch, from Monday morning through Thursday evening. * IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat and high humidity events. Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...A prolonged period of dangerous heat and humidity is expected this coming week. This heatwave may linger into the 4th of July weekend. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Wabash River at Mount Carmel. .Heavy rainfall Friday and Saturday has exacerbated ongoing flooding along the lower Wabash River. Minor flooding is now expected to continue through midweek. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Wabash River at Mount Carmel. * WHEN...Until Wednesday afternoon. * IMPACTS...At 22.0 feet, Flood waters begin to affect residents of East Mt. Carmel, Indiana. Fifth Street that parallels river closes. Twin restaurant along the river also closes. Several local river roads flood. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 12:45 PM EDT Saturday /11:45 AM CDT Saturday/ the stage was 20.6 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 12:45 PM EDT Saturday /11:45 AM CDT Saturday/ was 20.6 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 21.8 feet tomorrow morning. It will then fall below flood stage early Wednesday morning. - Flood stage is 19.0 feet. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees. * Locations impacted include... Mount Carmel, Albion, Grayville, Owensville, Bellmont, Keensburg, Browns, Golden Gate, and Burnt Prairie.
