Flood Watch issued June 27 at 2:58AM EDT until June 27 at 8:00PM EDT by NWS Louisville KY * WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of Indiana, including the following areas, Clark IN, Crawford, Dubois, Floyd, Harrison IN, Jefferson IN, Orange, Perry, Scott IN and Washington IN and Kentucky, including the following areas, Anderson, Bourbon, Clark KY, Fayette, Franklin, Harrison KY, Henry, Jefferson, Nicholas, Oldham, Scott KY, Shelby, Spencer, Trimble and Woodford. * WHEN...Through this evening. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Low-water crossings may be flooded. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Scattered storms capable of heavy rainfall rates will continue to move east over southern IN and portions of northern KY through the early to mid morning hours. Blue River at Fredericksburg affecting Washington and Harrison Counties. .Heavy rain from the past the last two days has caused the river to rise. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring. * WHERE...Blue River at Fredericksburg. * WHEN...Until just after midnight tonight. * IMPACTS...At 20.0 feet, Water covers parts of Fredericksburg-Depauw Road near river. At 22.0 feet, Backroads in town flood. Water approaches US 150. At 23.0 feet, US 150 is closed. At 24.0 feet, Water surrounds some homes along backroads. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 2:30 PM EDT Saturday the stage was 22.6 feet. - Bankfull stage is 15.0 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 2:30 PM EDT Saturday was 22.6 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage this evening and continue falling to 4.9 feet Thursday morning. - Flood stage is 20.0 feet. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 22.2 feet on 04/06/2025. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas. Even 6 inches of fast-moving flood water can knock you off your feet and a depth of 2 feet will float your car. Never try to walk, swim, or drive through such swift water.
