Extreme Heat Warning issued July 2 at 3:33AM CDT until July 3 at 8:00PM CDT by NWS Paducah KY * WHAT...Dangerously hot conditions with heat index values from 105 to 112 degrees will continue. * WHERE...all of southern Illinois, southwest Indiana, western Kentucky, and southeast Missouri. * WHEN...Until 8 PM CDT /9 PM EDT/ Friday. * IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat and high humidity events. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Monitor the latest forecasts and warnings for updates.

Flood Warning issued July 1 at 8:08PM CDT until July 8 at 2:30AM CDT by NWS Paducah KY ...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Indiana... Patoka River near Princeton .Major flooding is now occurring on the Pakota River near Princeton. The last forecast crest has slightly increased to 23.8 feet. This would be a bit higher than the crest observed in April 2025 and about a foot less than the flood of record, which occurred in May 2011. Major flood impacts are forecast to continue until Saturday when water levels will begin to fall quickly. For the Patoka River...including Princeton...Major flooding is forecast. * WHAT...Major flooding is occurring and major flooding is forecast. This approaches the flood of record. * WHERE...Patoka River near Princeton. * WHEN...Until Wednesday, July 08. * IMPACTS...At 22.0 feet, Flooding affects mainly farmland. Seasonal camping trailers closest to the river become inundated. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 7:45 PM CDT Wednesday the stage was 23.2 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 7:45 PM CDT Wednesday was 23.2 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 23.8 feet early Friday morning. It will then fall below flood stage Tuesday evening. - Flood stage is 18.0 feet. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 24.0 feet on 03/16/2006. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads.
