Special Weather Statement issued June 30 at 1:57PM EDT by NWS Tallahassee FL At 156 PM EDT/1256 PM CDT/, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near Port St. Joe, moving southwest at 10 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Port St. Joe, Apalachicola, Nine Mile, Highland View, Eleven Mile, St Joseph State Park, Thirteen Mile, Odena, Cape San Blas, Indian Pass, Tilton, Jones Homestead, Ward Ridge, Apalachicola Airport, and Simmons Bayou. If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.

Special Marine Warning issued June 30 at 1:01PM CDT until June 30 at 1:30PM CDT by NWS Tallahassee FL For the following areas... Coastal Waters from Mexico Beach to Apalachicola out 20 NM... At 101 PM CDT, a strong thunderstorm was located 10 nm south of Port St. Joe, moving west at 10 knots. HAZARD...Wind gusts 34 knots or greater. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Expect wind gusts in excess of 34 knots...suddenly higher waves...frequent lightning...and heavy downpours. Make sure all on board are wearing life jackets. Locations impacted include... Cape San Blas and Apalachicola. Move to safe harbor until hazardous weather passes. Frequent lightning is occurring with this storm. If caught on the open water stay below deck if possible, keep away from ungrounded metal objects.
