Rip Current Statement issued June 22 at 9:27AM EDT until June 22 at 8:00PM EDT by NWS Miami FL * WHAT...Dangerous rip currents. * WHERE...Coastal Palm Beach County, Coastal Broward County and Coastal Miami Dade County. * WHEN...Until 8 PM EDT this evening. * IMPACTS...Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away from shore into deeper water. Swim near a lifeguard. If caught in a rip current, relax and float. Don't swim against the current. If able, swim in a direction following the shoreline. If unable to escape, face the shore and call or wave for help.

Marine Weather Statement issued June 22 at 4:14PM EDT by NWS Miami FL The areas affected include... Biscayne Bay... At 413 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated strong thunderstorms, capable of producing winds to around 30 knots. These thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Turkey Point to 6 nm east of Triumph Reef, moving north at 20 knots. Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots and locally higher waves. Boaters should seek safe harbor immediately until these storms pass.

Waters from Deerfield Beach to Ocean Reef FL from 20 to 60 NM excluding the territorial waters of Bahamas... At 444 PM EDT, showers were located along a line extending from near Cape Florida to Biscayne Bay, moving northwest at 20 knots. HAZARD...Wind gusts 34 knots or greater. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and suddenly higher waves. Locations impacted include... Virginia Key, Soldier Key, Convoy Point, Turkey Point, Key Biscayne, Biscayne Bay, Elliott Key, Black Point, Coral Gables, Cape Florida, and Miami Beach. Move to safe harbor immediately as gusty winds and high waves are expected. Report severe weather to the Coast Guard or the National Weather Service. Flood Advisory issued June 22 at 4:34PM EDT until June 22 at 6:00PM EDT by NWS Miami FL * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...A portion of southeast Florida, including the following county, Miami-Dade. * WHEN...Until 600 PM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 434 PM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Miami, Coral Gables, South Miami, West Miami, Coconut Grove, Marlins Park, University Of Miami, Coral Terrace, Downtown Miami, Glenvar Heights, Westchester, Olympia Heights and Coral Way Village. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads.
