Locations include, but are not limited to Dove Creek, Telluride, Ouray, Montrose, Nucla, Delta, Gunnison, and Aspen. WHEN...600 PM Saturday June 27 to 900 AM Sunday June 28 IMPACTS...Areas downwind of large fires in southwestern Colorado and southeastern Utah could have periods of moderate to heavy smoke through at least Sunday morning. HEALTH INFORMATION...Public Health Recommendations: If smoke is thick or becomes thick in your neighborhood you may want to remain indoors. This is especially true for those with heart disease, respiratory illnesses, the very young, and older adults. Consider limiting outdoor activity when moderate to heavy smoke is present. Consider relocating temporarily if smoke is present indoors and is making you ill. If visibility is less than 5 miles in smoke in your neighborhood, smoke has reached levels that are unhealthy.

Red Flag Warning issued June 27 at 12:05PM MDT until June 28 at 10:00PM MDT by NWS Grand Junction CO The National Weather Service in Grand Junction has issued a Fire Weather Watch for gusty winds, low relative humidity and dry fuels, which is in effect from Monday afternoon through Monday evening. * AFFECTED AREA...In Colorado, Fire Weather Zone 202 White River Forecast Area, Fire Weather Zone 207 Southwest Colorado Lower Forecast Area and Fire Weather Zone 290 Paradox Valley Forecast Area. * TIMING...For the first Red Flag Warning, until midnight MDT tonight. For the second Red Flag Warning, from noon to 10 PM MDT Sunday. For the Fire Weather Watch, from Monday afternoon through Monday evening. * WINDS...Southwest 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 60 mph. * RELATIVE HUMIDITY...8 to 13 percent. * IMPACTS...Extreme fire danger is expected. Fires will uncontrollably spread and be very destructive. A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior.
