Red Flag Warning issued June 28 at 12:07AM MDT until June 28 at 4:00AM MDT by NWS Grand Junction CO The National Weather Service in Grand Junction has issued a Red Flag Warning for gusty winds, low relative humidity and dry fuels, which is in effect until 4 AM MDT early this morning. * AFFECTED AREA...In Colorado, Fire Weather Zone 207 Southwest Colorado Lower Forecast Area and Fire Weather Zone 290 Paradox Valley Forecast Area. * TIMING...For the first Red Flag Warning, until 4 AM MDT early this morning. For the second Red Flag Warning, from noon today to 10 PM MDT this evening. For the Fire Weather Watch, from Monday afternoon through Monday evening. * WINDS...Southwest 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 60 mph. * RELATIVE HUMIDITY...7 to 12 percent. * IMPACTS...Extreme fire danger is expected. Fires will uncontrollably spread and be very destructive. A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior.
