yellow warning - severe thunderstorm - in effect At 5:18 p.m. CDT, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm capable of producing damaging wind gusts, up to quarter size hail and heavy rain. Thunderstorm Location: From northeast of Bird to west of Knee Lake Motion: Moving east at 40 km/h Hazards: Wind: damaging (90 - 110 km/h) Hail: up to quarter size (up to 2.5 cm) Rain: heavy (15 - 50 mm) Locations in the Path: Knee Lake ### Heavy rain may cause flash flooding and significant reductions to visibility. Fast-moving and rapidly rising water can sweep vehicles away and damage infrastructure. Large hail may cause significant damage and injury. Severe thunderstorms can produce tornadoes. Severe thunderstorm warnings are issued when imminent or occurring thunderstorms are expected to produce damaging hail, wind or rain. Take immediate cover if a thunderstorm approaches. If outside, protect yourself from flying debris and hail.

yellow watch - severe thunderstorm - in effect Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts, large hail and heavy rain. Location: Northern Manitoba. Timing: Afternoon and evening. Hazards: - 4 to 6 cm hail. - 30 to 50 mm rainfall, locally. - 90 km/h wind gusts. Remarks: A low pressure system over northern Manitoba will trigger scattered thunderstorms this afternoon and evening across northern Manitoba. ### Local utility outages are possible. Damage to roofs, fences, branches or soft shelters is possible. Fast-moving and rapidly rising water can sweep vehicles away and damage infrastructure. Heavy rain can cause flash flooding and significant reductions to visibility. Strong wind gusts can damage trees, buildings and overturn vehicles. Large hail can cause significant damage and injury. Severe thunderstorm watches are issued when conditions are favourable for the development of thunderstorms capable of producing damaging hail, wind or rain.
