red warning - tornado - in effect At 11:10 p.m. CDT, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm that is possibly producing a tornado. Damaging winds, large hail and locally intense rainfall are also possible. Tornado Location: Over Sinclair Motion: Moving east at 50 km/h Locations in the Path: Sinclair Cromer Woodnorth ### This is a very dangerous and potentially life-threatening situation. Tornadoes can be wrapped in rain and may not be visible. Tornadoes at night cannot be seen and may strike suddenly. Sometimes they are preceded by strengthening winds, large hail, or an approaching whistling or roaring sound. Tornado warnings are issued when a thunderstorm is producing or is likely to produce a tornado. Take cover immediately in a basement, interior room, or a sturdy shelter when threatening weather approaches. If no shelter is available, lie in a low spot and protect your head from flying debris. If you are out on the water when threatening weather approaches, return to shore and seek shelter, if possible. Otherwise, move away from the path of the tornado to escape. Wear your lifejacket, lie face down and protect your head.

yellow warning - severe thunderstorm - in effect At 12:18 a.m. CDT, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm capable of producing damaging wind gusts, loonie to ping pong ball size hail and very heavy rain. Thunderstorm Location: From 35 km west of Ebor to Scarth to 30 km east of Virden Motion: Moving northeast at 30 km/h Hazards: Wind: damaging (90 - 110 km/h) Hail: up to quarter size (up to 2.5 cm) Rain: very heavy (50 - 100 mm) Locations in the Path: Virden Sioux Valley Maryfield Kenton Elkhorn ### Heavy rain may cause flash flooding and significant reductions to visibility. Fast-moving and rapidly rising water can sweep vehicles away and damage infrastructure. Large hail may cause significant damage and injury. Severe thunderstorms can produce tornadoes. Severe thunderstorm warnings are issued when imminent or occurring thunderstorms are expected to produce damaging hail, wind or rain. Take immediate cover if a thunderstorm approaches. If outside, protect yourself from flying debris and hail. Don't drive through flooded roadways. Avoid low-lying areas.
