Locations impacted include... Houma, Cut Off, Galliano, Avondale, Larose, Metairie, Marrero, Harvey, Timberlane, Belle Chasse, Jefferson, Gretna, Harahan, Westwego, Lockport, Golden Meadow, Jean Lafitte, Mathews, Chauvin, and Luling. This includes the following Interstates... Interstate 10 in Louisiana between mile markers 226 and 228, and between mile markers 233 and 236. Interstate 310 near mile marker 11. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle.
