Flood Watch issued June 4 at 10:58AM CDT until June 5 at 7:00PM CDT by NWS Shreveport LA * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of Arkansas, including the following counties, Columbia, Hempstead, Howard, Lafayette, Little River, Miller, Nevada, Sevier and Union, Louisiana, including the following parishes, Bienville, Bossier, Caddo, Caldwell, Claiborne, De Soto, Grant, Jackson, La Salle, Lincoln, Natchitoches, Ouachita, Red River, Sabine, Union, Webster and Winn, southeast Oklahoma, including the following county, McCurtain, and Texas, including the following counties, Angelina, Bowie, Camp, Cass, Cherokee, Franklin, Gregg, Harrison, Marion, Morris, Nacogdoches, Panola, Red River, Rusk, Sabine, San Augustine, Shelby, Smith, Titus, Upshur and Wood. * WHEN...Through Wednesday evening. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Extensive street flooding and flooding of creeks and rivers are possible. Flood Warning issued June 4 at 9:31PM CDT by NWS Shreveport LA ...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Louisiana... Red Chute Bayou At Sligo affecting Bossier and Bienville Parishes. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring. * WHERE...Red Chute Bayou at Sligo. * WHEN...Until further notice. * IMPACTS...At 33.0 feet, Overflow will begin to affect the small mobile home park in the Sligo community just south of the Sligo-Caplis highway. Also expect flooding of farmland in southern Bossier Parish between Red Chute Bayou and the Flat River. Livestock should be moved to higher ground. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 8:15 PM CDT Tuesday the stage was 32.8 feet. - Bankfull stage is 29.0 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 8:15 PM CDT Tuesday was 32.8 feet. - Forecast...The river is forecast to rise to 34 feet by Friday afternoon. - Flood stage is 31.0 feet. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 32.8 feet on 12/10/1961. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Do not drive cars through flooded areas.
