Flood Advisory issued May 26 at 10:26PM CDT until May 27 at 1:30AM CDT by NWS Paducah KY * WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of western Kentucky, including the following counties, Calloway, Christian, Todd and Trigg. * WHEN...Until 130 AM CDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1026 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream flooding. Between 2 and 3.5 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Hopkinsville, Murray, Oak Grove, Cadiz, Elkton, Fort Campbell, Wranglers Campground, Energy Lake Campground, Woodlands Nature Station, Golden Pond Visitors Center, Land Between The Lakes Area, Turkey Bay, Clarksville, Guthrie, Pembroke, Crofton, Canton, Rockcastle, Hazel and Trenton. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
